Our Preschool is our primary outreach. For almost 70 years the Christ the King Lutheran Preschool has served the children and families of Kenner. Thank you for your trust and support as we carry out God's mission in our community! For more about the preschool please call us at 504-469-2909.
Shawl Ministry. Each week a group of women get together at a member's house and knit shawls for those who could use a warm hug. These shawls are given to new parents, cancer patients, anyone grieving, and anyone who could just use a reminder that God's love wraps us up. For more information, you're invited to call the office.
To support those facing hunger, we have an ongoing food drive benefiting the Kenner Food Bank. Last year the Kenner Mayor presented Christ the King with a special declaration for our hunger relief efforts. You're invited to bring non-perishable food anytime the church is open to support our friends who need it.
A few times a year our choir offers a benefit concert for a worthy cause. These students at Loyola College of Music offer seasonal selections and a fantastic program. We've supported efforts for relief in Ukraine and Disaster Relief. Look for more offerings on our calendar.
We offer special learning events to address the most pressing issues in our community. In the past we've partnered with the Kiwanas club for a Suicide Prevention talk; Stop the Bleed for a talk about helping children in an emergency. We look forward to many more.
We also partner with community organizations who are bettering our community. We have relationships with: Angel's Place, Habitat for Humanity, Magnolia School, Ronald McDonald House, Metropolitan Center for Women and Children, Parkinson's Foundation, Bunche Elementary, and many others. Together we hold special service opportunities, supply drives, and gifts as part of our commitment to love others.
