LENTEN DINNER & VESPERS—Come for a light dinner of soup and sandwiches in our fellowship hall at 6:00 PM each Wednesday night during Lent, and remain for Vespers (using Holden Evening Prayer) at 7:00.
FIRST COMMUNION—Classes in preparation for First Communion have begun and will conclude with the young people receiving First Communion on Easter Sunday. The class meets each Sunday (11:45-12:30) and is written at about a ten-year-old’s level. (If your child is much younger than that, but you think he/she could benefit from participating, please speak to the pastor.)
PASTOR’S ADULT FORUM—Pastor’s Adult Forum, which meets each Sunday morning at 9:15 in the conference room, has begun an informal discussion of the readings for the Sundays in Lent. Join us!
MEMBER APPRECIATION SOCIAL LUNCH MARCH 10TH: - The local chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is sponsoring an appreciation lunch for all CTK Thrivent members and their families on Sunday, March 10th, immediately following the 10:30 am service. Membership is what makes Thrivent Financial unique and it can be even more valuable, meaningful and fun! Come meet the other Thrivent members at CTK and enjoy the lunch social! NEW BIBLE STUDY GROUP—Lori VerHey will lead a new Bible study group beginning Tuesday, March 12th at 7:00 pm in the conference room. Everyone is invited to attend. For more information call Debbie Paulson at 487-6801.
MARCH CTK NEWSLETTER—For those who don’t received the newsletter by email, extra copies are now available in the narthex. Pick one up on your way out.
AARP TAX AID PROGRAM—AARP Tax Aid Program is assisting with filing income taxes on Mon.—Thurs., from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm in the fellowship hall. The program will continue through the tax season. No appointment required. Call John Burgbacher (504-887-7368) for further information.
YOGA CLASS—The next 12-class session begins on Tuesday, March 12th and runs through April 18th. Classes are held on Tuesdays at 5:45pm and on Thursdays at 6:00pm in The Community Center. Beginners are welcome. No preregistration is required. Cost is $40, cash or check only-exact change please. Bring a mat, 2 yoga blocks and a strap to class. THE BIBLE ON THE HISTORY CHANNEL—A new mini-series begins this Sunday, March 3 at 7:00 pm on the History Channel. “The Bible” is an epic 5 week mini-series that concludes on Easter Sunday and will feature the death and resurrection of Jesus.

FOOD DONATIONS—Since Lent is a time to think of others, maybe the next time you go to the grocery you could pick up a few extra things for the food bank. You all have been wonderful but let's keep this going. The need is there and how easy for us to help others.
